Parent's Role in Building Children Character In The Movie Nanti Kita Cerita Nanti Hari Ini



Film as a medium of mass communication has a very important role to convey messages to the viewer. One of the messages contained in the film, namely the role of parents in building a child's character and the film contains a message of parents in building a child's character in it is a One Day We Will Talk About Today that talks about the parents, Narendra and Ajeng, save and struggles brought by the parents and the eldest son of Angkasa to them until the children grow older. The lack of honesty and communication in the family give a negative aura. This study aims to understand the message of the role of parents in building the child's character which is represented through the signs of verbal and non-verbal in the film One Day We Will Talk About Today. The focus of the research in this thesis is in the form of a scene-a scene in the movie that represents the role of the parents contained, in accordance with the 5 elements in use. This study uses the method of analysis of the semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce with a qualitative descriptive approach. The technique of data analysis is done through the triangle of meaning Peirce, namely sign/representamen, object, and Interpretant. The result of this study is the role of parents to be advisory, support, responsibility, mentors, and teachers in the film One Day We Will Talk About Today.
